For the entire automobile wiring harness assembly, different types of via rubber parts, cable ties, wiring harness buckles, wiring harness brackets and tapes are needed to limit the relative position of wiring harness products. Since automotive wiring harness products are generally supplied to the automaker in the form of assembly supply, this article mainly introduces fixed protection parts from the perspective of fixed protection of automotive wiring harnesses.
The following is various types of automotive cable ties and their use environment and application examples.
1. Ordinary plastic cable tie
According to different structures, there are two types: one-piece type and split type with movable fixed end. Ordinary cable ties are used in places where the wiring harness and pipeline have no specific location requirements relative to the vehicle and the space is relatively open. If you want to limit the position of the wire harness assembly, you need to use it with a fixed bracket or with various types of cable tie connectors.
2. Screw-fixed plastic cable tie
This type of cable tie is mainly used in areas where holes cannot be opened to strictly prevent rain, dust, etc. from entering the passenger compartment. Used in conjunction with bolts or screws, the general specification of screws is M5～M8.
3. Arrowhead mount cable tie for round hole
This type of cable tie is used with round holes. The hole diameter is generally φ5～φ8 mm. The disk at the end of the arrow can play a role in dust prevention. Arrow ties can only be used for single-layer boards, and the board thickness is usually less than 3 mm, which is different from the elliptical hole fixed plastic ties. This type of plastic ties allows the wire harness to be twisted after installation, and is mostly used for flat metal sheets, and used in places where the wiring space is large and the wiring harness direction is relatively gentle.
4. Arrowhead mount cable tie for oval hole
This type of plastic cable tie can prevent the wire bundle from twisting after the installation is completed. It has a better effect on the environment where the direction of the wire harness needs to be strictly limited, and has a strong fixing stability after the installation is completed.
