Connector for cars is mainly composed of the following four structural components:
1. The contacts are the core one of connector for cars to complete the electrical connection function. Generally, contact pairs are composed of positive contacts and negative contacts, and electric connection is completed through the insertion of negative and positive contacts.
Positive contacts are rigid parts in the form of cylinder (circular needle), square column (square needle) or flat shape (insert). The positive contacts are generally made of brass and phosphor bronze. The negative contacts, namely the jacks, are the critical part of contact pairs. It relies on the elastic structure to produce elastic deformation when it is inserted with the needle, and then generates elastic force to form close contact with the positive contact to complete the connection. There are many kinds of jack structures, such as the cylinder (split slot, necking), tuning fork type, cantilever beam type (longitudinal slotting), folding type (longitudinal slot, 9 shape), box (square jack) and hyperboloid spring jack.
2. The housing, also known as the shell, is the outer housing of connector for cars. It provides mechanical protection for the built-in insulating mounting plate and pin, and provides alignment of the plug and socket to attach the connector to the device.
3. Insulators, also known as the base or mounting plate of connector for cars, are used to arrange the contacts in the desired position and spacing and to ensure insulation between the contacts as well as between the contacts and the housing. Good insulation resistance, voltage resistance and good processability are the basic requirements for selecting insulating materials to be processed into insulators.
4. Accessories are divided into structural accessories and installation accessories. Structural accessories include the collar, locating key, locating pin, guide pin, connecting ring, cable clamp, seal ring, gasket. Installation accessories include the screw, nut, bolt, spring ring. Most of the accessories have standard parts and universal parts.
It is those four basic structural components that enable connector for cars to act as the bridge and operate stably.
